In such a situation, the train will run at a maximum speed of 350 km per hour.
A 508 km long track is being laid under Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project. The train will pass through tunnels and under the sea. The project is likely to cost Rs 1.08 lakh crore.

The project consists of a double line of 508 KM length with tunnels and underseas. The government had estimated that the project would cost around Rs. 1,08,000 crore and 81% of the project cost will be borne by a Japanese soft loan at 0.1% per annum, covering a 50-year repayment period including a grace period of 15 years.

According to the Ministry of Railways, the bullet train will reach from Mumbai to Sabarmati in just 2 hours and 7 minutes. The duration of the train to reach the final station of Ahmedabad from Mumbai will be 2.58 hours. The estimated cost of the Bullet Train project is Rs.1,08,000/-. 81 percent of the total cost of the project has been provided as a loan by the Japanese government. The loan is repayable in 50 years with a grace period of 15 years with an interest rate of 0.1 percent.
Government of India is now planning High Speed Rail i.e. HSR. Discussions are also going on about 6 additional corridors under this. It is likely to include Delhi to Varanasi, Delhi to Ahmedabad, Mumbai to Nagpur, Mumbai to Hyderabad, Chennai to Mysore and Delhi to Amritsar. It is important that the government had already made it clear that the target to complete the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project by the year 2022-2023.
