India's first bullet train project is PM Modi's dream project. The government plans to start bullet trains in the country by 2026, but this project is being delayed repeatedly. Due to this delay, the Indian government is now talking to countries other than Japan. Actually, in the year 2015, the Indian government had made a deal for bullet trains. But there is a problem regarding the delivery of bullet trains from Japan and its terms.
National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) is in charge of this project. The estimated cost of the bullet train project is approximately Rs 1.08 lakh crore. Let us tell you that the maximum speed of the bullet train in India will be 350 km per hour. This train will cover the 508 km distance from Mumbai to Ahmedabad in less than 3 hours. The central government wants to start this Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project in 2026.
Preparations are underway to launch about two dozen bullet trains on the high-speed track being built between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. Each train will have at least ten coaches. Depending on the speed of the train, it will take approximately one hour and 58 minutes to cover the total distance.
But due to stops at 12 stations along the way, it will take approximately two hours and 57 minutes to cover the entire distance.
